Hours per week: 25 hrs a week

 

Saint John Soccer Club is the largest recreational sporting club in Saint John, New Brunswick with over 800 members playing in age categories from U5 to Adult COED. Our Club is currently looking to fill the new position of TD.

 

Experience & Education

 

  • Playing at a competitive level
  • Head coach of teams at the competitive and community level
  • Post-secondary education relating to the field of Sport and Recreation, Education, Physical Education or a related field.

 

Duties of the TD

 

  • Attend and coach within all Excel Academy sessions from U5 to U18
  • Report to the Board of Directors on specific projects
  • Lead model sessions that further educate coaches working through their CSA coaching pathway
  • Develop and implement new programs
  • Assist during competitive team try outs (spring)
  • Regular on field support
  • Promotion of the sport and club
  • Other tasks as required

 

Preferred Qualifications and skills

 

  • CSA B license part 1 or equivalent
  • CSA Children’s license or working towards the certification
  • NCCP Making Ethical Decision training
  • NCCP Learning facilitator core training
  • Experience coaching at different levels
  • Experience implementing programs & able to meet program deadlines
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Has a strong ability to lead groups

Technical Development Camp

Soccer New Brunswick ID and Technical Development Camp is promoting a higher level of play through technical and tactical training in a FUN, yet demanding atmosphere.

It is an opportunity to scout our future soccer stars for Teams NB and Canada Games.

Referee Education Sessions

 

Referee Education Sessions Starts this week:

Another Referee development program will be launched this week.

The aim of this program is to improve the qualities of referees by working on important subjects which influence the performance of officials during matches.

A series of online education sessions where referees will receive training play reading and anticipation, movement, positioning, advantage, game management, teamwork and other themes.

These series will be presented by Local instructors, Canadian Premier League referees, national instructors, FIFA referees and FIFA Instructors.

This Course is accessible for referees registered in 2020.

Referee Workshop During Social Distancing

Many changes were made in the 2019/2020 Laws Of The Game.

These modifications are applied starting April first, 2020 in New Brunswick.

For this purpose and to ensure that NB referees are up to date, Soccer NB offered 8 sessions as a Refresher Course this year.

All Session were presented Online by 7 NB instructors who also took this course On February 1st, 2020.

4 Canada Soccer Guests have attended the course:

Joe Audi: National assessor & National Championships Referees Supervisor.

Carman King: Canada Soccer National Referee Committee Member.

Isaac Raymond: Canada Soccer Referee Manager

Pierre-Luc Lauzière: National Referee & Current MLS and CONCACAF Referee.
